Matthew has been performing on pipe and electronic organs since 1994, making his solo debut in Hadlow Down in East Sussex. Following completing a degree in Music and Education at The University of Reading, he combined a teaching and performing career, before turning full-time to music in 2005.
His concert programmes - irrespective of the type of instrument - have a diverse range of music from classical to contemporary. He believes that the "King of Instruments" is capable of playing anything, and that the instrument can reach-out to a wider audience, not just "organ enthusiasts".
He explores all of the tonal colours available on every instrument he performs on, and he has been frequently described as "a breath of fresh air" by audiences and concert promotors.

He is an established performer on theatre pipe organs, and is known for using his excellent improvisation skills to accompany classic silent films, such as Laurel and Hardy comedy shorts through to full feature-length films such as "Phantom of the Opera" and "Wings".
For electronic organ concerts, as a Yamaha Brand Ambassador, he uses the Genos 2 TRX system, Tyros 5 and for his "One Man Show" also includes Accordion and Vocals. There are occasions where he features these instruments at his pipe-organ concerts; creating exciting and diverse music on the theme of 'organ and orchestra'.
He has held the post of Resident Organist at:
Ashorne Hall, Warwick (1999-2003), performing shows 3 to 5 times per week in-season on the Wurlitzer and Compton Theatre Organs;
Scarborough Fair Collection, Filey, Yorkshire (2014 to 2018) as one of the team of organists playing the Wurlitzer for shows and dances;
Also an experienced church musician and music co-ordinator, he is currently organist for the GATE Group of Churches in Buckinghamshire.
